Privacy policy
Kaushalam handles candidate personal data — name, email, phone, preferred language, and learning activity. This page explains exactly what we collect, where it lives, and who can see it.
1 · What we collect
- Candidate name, email, phone, and preferred language (provided by your TP).
- Time spent learning — start, end, and duration — measured by your own device while you study.
- Conversations with the AI tutor — private to the candidate who wrote them.
- Mock assessment attempts and the readiness score they produce.
- Voice recordings, when you speak to the tutor, are used once for transcription and then discarded; we keep the transcript, not the audio.
2 · Where data lives
All candidate and TP data is held on secure infrastructure in our cloud provider's Asia region. Conversations with the AI tutor, learning sessions, and assessment attempts are written once and locked — we cannot edit or delete these records, and neither can a TP. The history is permanent by design.
3 · Who can see your data
- Candidates see only their own data.
- Training Partners see aggregated progress for the candidates they enrolled — never private chat content.
- Kaushalam platform admins see anonymised platform-wide metrics for quality and audit purposes.
- No data is shared with advertisers or third-party analytics platforms.
4 · Third parties involved in the service
- Sarvam AI (India-sovereign AI provider) — voice and chat processing. Voice recordings are forwarded once for transcription, then discarded.
- Cloud infrastructure provider — secure storage of platform data and authentication, hosted in the Asia region.
- YouTube — only for fetching publicly-listed video metadata for curated learning resources. Video playback happens on youtube.com.
- Google OAuth — authentication. We receive your name and email; we never receive your Google password.
5 · Your rights
- Request a copy of your data by emailing privacy@kaushalam.ai.
- Request correction of inaccuracies.
- Request deletion, subject to statutory retention obligations under PMKVY / NCVET / NSDC rules that require retaining certain evidence for audit.
- Opt out of non-essential communications.
6 · Retention
Learning evidence (sessions, attempts, chat transcripts) is retained for the duration of the PMKVY scheme audit cycle — typically seven years from the date of the related batch's certification. After that, it is archived or anonymised.
7 · Terms of use
- Kaushalam is provided as a learning augmentation — not a certification.
- Kaushalam does not issue NSDC / PMKVY / NSQF certificates. Those remain the exclusive right of NCVET-approved Assessment Agencies and NSDC.
- Training Partners are responsible for candidate eligibility under PMKVY scheme rules.
- Abuse of the platform (mass enrolment of fake candidates, automated bots, attempts to exfiltrate data) will result in immediate account suspension.
8 · Grievance redressal
In line with IT Rules 2021 / 2023, Kaushalam has a published grievance process. See the Contact page for the four-step procedure and escalation path.
9 · Disclaimer
Kaushalam is an independent private technology product. It is not an official Government of India / MSDE / NSDC / NCVET platform and holds no statutory authority to issue certifications, approve qualifications, or empanel Training Partners.
